Good news: Professor Wang Wei's research team leads the "quality improvement and heating up" of the university's scientific research atmosphere

2025/09/28201

Yinchuan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau recently announced the approval of its 2025 Science and Technology Program (First Batch). In accordance with the "Yinchuan Science and Technology Project Management Regulations" (Yinke Gui Fa [2025] No.2), the program underwent a rigorous evaluation process including departmental preliminary review, expert technical assessment, departmental evaluation of project entities, performance target evaluation, and collective decision-making. Professor Wang Wei's research team from our university secured funding for their project titled "Controlled Synthesis and Reaction Mechanism Research on Metal Phosphide-Based Catalysts for Green Electrochemical Hydrogen Production" under the Youth Science Talent Cultivation Program (Basic Research Guidance Special Project). The project has been officially designated with approval number 2025RC14.

Relying on the first university-level scientific research team of our university-the nanocatalytic materials scientific innovation team (School of Chemistry and Bioengineering, team leader: Professor Wang Wei) related discipline platform, the team has long focused on the field of metal phosphide catalysis, formed a stable team foundation, and is the first scientific and technological innovation team approved by our university at the municipal level or above.

Following the official approval of this project, the research team will receive municipal-level special funding to purchase scientific equipment, tackle key technological challenges, and regularly host events like "Innovation Forums" and "Tech Salons". Professor Wang Wei, the team leader with decades of experience in catalysts, has consistently implemented a mentorship philosophy that combines senior expertise with new talent development. By strengthening the demonstration effect of "excellent teams driving overall improvement", he is committed to elevating the university's research ecosystem toward higher quality, greater vitality, and stronger collaboration.

In the second half of the year, Yinchuan Energy University will conduct final evaluations for its first batch of research teams. The 12 university-level research teams approved in the initial phase have all achieved notable progress over three years of development. These teams have established a tailored cultivation mechanism that aligns with our institution's practical needs, fostering an environment where "research is discussed, conducted, and pursued with dedication." This collective effort aims to contribute robust scientific capabilities to the university's high-quality development initiatives.
